A fulfilling birthday!

Overwhelmed with wishes and blessings

That came in person, phone, email and fb

On the day of my 26th birthday,

I am left with no words to thank u all.

I realised as it were,

That my life had everything.

Health and Spirit,

Experiences and Opportunities,

am beaming with pride with a

Caring family and amazing friends,

that could make the devil envy.

It is said that there is always one thing more,

Leaving me wondering at what more could I ask...

for all I could come up with is just

not having met my lady charm.

Alas, living wud be a boredom if life is completely complete.:)

Slave country celebrating yet another independence day!

On the eve of yet another independence day, it is with untellable sadness that I am reminded of our unending slavery. The comments made by an unmindful and racist US diplomat on tamil people as 'dirty and dark' has met with nothing more than modest condemnation from a few tamilians. It is ironic that the melting pot of the world with a dark skinned president considered it sufficient to term the comment 'inappropriate' through its consulate. 'Inappropriate??' the diplomat in question must be called back immediatly and tried for charges of racism on foreign soil. What is with the American arrogance that considers everything non-American so cheap? The state department at Washington DC seems to be busy poking nose into matters like how India must deal with protests and hence allow petty matters like human rights violation, genocides and racism to be dealt by local consulates.

Whats with a skin colour? Its merely a function of lattitude. Moving towards polar regions, one can observe even the pigs and bears are fair skinned. At lower lattitudes, people are of course dark skinned. Whats wrong in being born at a lower lattitude as against a higher lattitude? Its surprising to know the diplomat is a vice consul in India. How the hell did she climb so high with the dumbness of a lame duck? The saddest of all things is that the Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) also seems to be too busy to put up a word of protest on this grave racist comment. It is futile to celebrate independence day in India every year if we keep believing that 'fair skin represents superiority'.
